Fraser Island is a little slice of heaven located off the coast of Hervey Bay in Queensland. This fully guided adventure will take you to fresh-water swimming lakes, ancient rainforests, pure-white sandy beaches and a shipwreck. You may even see a dingo. Make sure to bring:
$30 to cover insurance fee, 1-2 changes of clothes and warmer clothes when travelling in winter, camera, towel, water bottle, swimwear, sunscreen, hat, footwear, sleeping bag, solar charger, insect repellent, snacks for when you get the munchies and own alcohol/drinks (no glass).
The boring (but important) stuff:
Make sure to confirm your booking as far in advance as possible to avoid disappointment. Tour orientation and safety briefing is held at 6:30am the morning of departure and is compulsory. You must be over 21 years old, with confident driving experience to drive. 18-20 year olds or people who do not have driving experience can still attend the tour, however will be unable to drive the vehicle. Tour departs every Monday, Wednesday and Friday from Palace Hostel, 10 Bideford St, Torquay and returns at 3:30pm on the last day. Ice and Esky will be provided to keep food and drink from spoiling.
